Funeral services for Joseph Virgil Blazier will be Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer with Fr. Edwin Rodriguez-Hernandez officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will be in the St. Alphonsus Mausoleum under the direction of Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie.

Mr. Blazier, age 81, of Bunkie, passed away on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at the VA Medical Center of Alexandria. He was a US Army veteran and a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Lessie Jeansonne Blazier of Bunkie; one daughter, Susan B. Ducote and husband, Mike, of Bunkie and three sisters, Opal Spears of Monroe, Pearl Self of Olla and Joyce Jetter of Olla.

Visitation will be at Melancon Funeral Home, Bunkie on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 from 3:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. with a Rosary at 5 p.m. and on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 from 8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. www.melanconfunerals.com
